Sebastopol Living Peace Wall

Honoring those who have worked nonviolently for peace and justice

Watch the new 8-minute documentary about Sebastopol Living Peace Wall:

Join us Saturday, September 7, 11:00 AM to noon for the 5th annual Honoree       Induction Ceremony. This year's Honorees:  Jim Corbett, Tula Jaffe,        Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey and Dr. Earl Herr.

                                         From The Center Granite Panel:

"We honor the peacemakers, whose names are inscribed, who have

during their lives worked for peace and against war, for justice

and against injustice, for nonviolent resolutions and against violence,

and for the common good and against selfishness and greed.

By honoring these outstanding individuals we also honor all who

share in the collective desire to rise above differences of race,

religion, nationalities and ideologies, to that place where we are

all brothers and sisters, where we share a common humanity and a

common desire to live in peace with all the people of the world."

"Returning violence with violence only multiplies violence, adding a deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars . . . darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that, hatred cannot drive out hatred only love can do that."

                                                                                                                   Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Tuesday, October 6, 2015 The Living Peace Wall was installed on its pedestal in downtown Sebastopol !! Now peace activists will receive the honor and respect they deserve, and the cause of peace will have a visible presence in the heart of Sebastopol!  The Inaugural Dedication Ceremony was held Sunday, Oct. 11th, 2015 at the peace wall site across from the town plaza. Over  150 people attended.  We circled and blessed the wall while Tui led us in  the song/dance "Spirit of Peace".    *See photos below.

Each year hereafter, four honorees will be selected, their names inscribed in the granite wall, their biographies added to this web site, and they will be honored at the annual induction ceremony held in mid September.

The four honorees  chosen for 2019 are:  Jim Corbett,  Tula Jaffe,  Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, and
